1) can use any M43 lens, 2) same AF speed and accuracy of the M43 lens itself. A cheap solution for not serious macro work. But found certain combo might not use both of 16mm and 10mm tube, like the old 45-200 on the old G1. 2 tests on the extension tubes when they were first purchased: with extension tube 10mm. with extension tube 16mm.
The last image uses a Canon tube (25mm) tube plus all three Kenko tubes (12+20+36mm) combined. This gives something like 2.5:1 magnification, but the overall image quality has dropped quite a lot. Also at this point you are so close that it can be hard to avoid the lens barrel casting a shadow on the subject.
What would I benefit by getting the Extension Tube EF_2511 to use with my 70-300 and 24-105. Extension tubes allow closer focus and greater maximum magnifcation. But with the extension tube attached, the lens cannot focus to far distance. See the instruction manual for your lens.

(This was my theory of producing a cheap macro lens for a beginner like me). They were of course more expensive but the reviews on them were good which wasn't the case of the third parties. Both were a heck of a lot less expensive than a AF macro lens for the H1. The 90 f2 with the 26 mm gets about .5 magnification and it makes a great lens for macro. -- hide signature --.
