I owned a 5D Mark IV and it is fantastic in many, many ways. But it is a professional camera. It is quite large, heavy and durable. The 24-70 f/2.8 is a professional photojournalist lens. It is excellent, but it is also large and heavy. I love using the 5D Mark IV with fast prime lenses, such as the 85mm f/1.8, for portrait and people photography.
Hi, I haven't been using my Canon 1D Mark IV for few months and now that I wanted to use it again when on a trip outside, turned out - there is a problem. When I have shutter speed at 1/125s or slower - the photo taken is as you would expect. Everything is normal. When you set 1/160s or faster - all you get is a black photo - pure black.
The 100-400II on the R7 gives a significantly sharper image than the 100-400II + 1.4X III extender on the 1DX. The R7 autofocus is better. The extender only works with centre point focus on the 1DX, due to lens going to f/8. The mirrorless viewfinder is useful in challenging lighting situations, e.g. contrasty conditions.
Mr. Matsumoto is known within Canon as the 'father of the EOS-1', and is pictured above holding the new Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. Our conversation was conducted via an interpreter. As such, responses have been combined, and this interview has been edited lightly for clarity and flow.
Putting the EOS-1D Mk3's demons behind it Canon has produced an upgrade that's not just better, but delivers an incredibly versatile tool that blurs the 'sports camera/studio camera' line more than ever before. The Nikon D3S might beat it in very low light, but if you want speed and resolution, the EOS-1D Mark IV delivers convincingly.
Canon video tutorials are also available for the EOS-1D Mark IV, 5D Mark III, 5D Mark II, 7D and 60D. (From UnitedByPhotography, via CanonWatch) Canon USA has published a series of user guides for its flagship EOS-1D X full-frame DSLR, in the form of HD videos that are designed to be played-back on the camera's rear LCD.

Re: Canon 1D mark 4 shutter count. I recently came across another shutter count program for Canon cameras. Can't vouch for its accuracy, but you can check out: Thankyou! Finally a free shutter count app. My Mk IV is showing 732 which is about right as it had a new shutter fitted a couple months ago.
Both my 1D Mark III cameras have around 25k on the shutters, and I am sure one with even 200k would probably outlast the amount of photos I will produce in my lifetime. Just enjoy it to the max. The 1D Mark IV is a wonderful gem of a camera, and is arguably Canon's best crop sensored (and a tiny crop at that, given its 1.3x crop) body in existence.
The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III will be blisteringly fast - offering exceptional precision, reliability, high-performance autofocus and subject tracking – providing photographers with a tool that will help to capture the shot they are chasing. The camera’s new autofocus algorithm will improve stability and tracking when using both the Optical
This gives the 1D X a two-stop advantage over the 1D Mark IV. Metering is taken care of by Canon’s 100,000-pixel RGB AE metering system with evaluative, partial, spot or center-weighted metering
