4298 posts · Joined 2009. #12 · Oct 30, 2020 (Edited by Moderator) There was a problem on early MK3's built in the last quarter of 2012 blowing a piston due to a manufacturing defect which Ford were replacing the short block under warranty.
In those 10 months/21k miles, the car has been very reliable. I did the initial oil change at 1,500 miles and I have done it every 5,000 miles after that. Keep up on your normal maintenance (fluids, tire rotations, etc.) and she should treat you right. S. When acceleration, it’s more of a hesitation side to side shaking that is only there under load. If I cruise at 2000 there is no vibration. •if I put the car in 1st gear and accelerate. It vibrates. Mk2 ST225 traction control light. Hello all! I had the same issue on mine a few years back, “ESP system fault” appeared on the dash and no boost, it had split a weld on the intercooler.The rear passenger side footwell is somewhat wet and now smelly. I can't identify where its coming from though, it seems to be predominant after driving in the wet (not consciously noticed it when its rained hard and the car has been idle) as the carpet looks like its been rained on. Its not at the sides but more in the centre of the carpet too.
